about
progessive menswear and unisex design label studio_805 is driven by andrew bannister, a first class fashion graduate from leeds college of art & design who relocated to london in winter 2008 to begin his calculated exercise in sartorial fun. bannister honed his pattern cutting skills whilst on placement at vivienne westwood and has since developed a signature style fusing cunning cut, clever colour and choice cloth. studio_805 launched at london fashion week in february 2009 as part of vauxhall fashion scout’s first ever ‘ones to watch’ initiative.
studio_805’s fifth collection for A/W 11/12 promotes a very dark, hyper brutal masculinity; drawing inspiration from Andy Warhol’s Factory and New York go-go dancers, exploring themes of reflection and contrast, fame and stardom. fabrics range from jet black denim, mirrored leatherette and lycra, through to perforated leather, 3M reflective jersey and airtex.
